Why Choose English at MIEng?

Our English language programs assist individual students to learn to the best of their ability and prepare them to use English in wide variety of social, personal, educational, workplace and training contexts. These courses help students lay the foundations to develop or improve their English language skills within the training or workplace environment.

At MIEng, we take a student-centred, communicative approach to language teaching and focus on functional English in the four key areas of Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing. Our commitment to providing students with the best possible learning experience means that we combine the use of books with multimedia packages and computer assisted language learning. We also organise excursions and class trips for learning purposes.

Each of the Certificates in ESL (Access) offered comprises one core unit and four units in Listening, Speaking, Reading, and Writing and two elective units.

These ESL courses will help students to plan their language learning goals, participate in casual conversations/complex discussions, give and respond to instructions, read, understand and write simple and complex texts, make presentations, and listen and take notes. Students will also gain basic computer skills such as keyboard skills, simple word processing and internet and email use.
